BTS has had yet another milestone for the Billboard 200 chart with their first ever live album "PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LIVE" debuting at number ten. The album was released on July 18, 2025 and showcased the lively nature of their 2021-2022 tour, with performances from Seoul, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. The successful debut of this album makes BTS most powerful in their eighth top 10 Billboard 200, which sets a new record as the Korean act with the most top 10 albums in Billboard 200 history. This achievement validates BTS' legacy as very influential pop group in the 21st century

As of the week ending July 24, 2025, "PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LIVE" achieved 36,000 in album sales, plus 5,000 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units and 2,000 track equivalent album (TEA) units. The album is represented by almost all of their hits. "Dynamite," "Butter," and "Boy With Luv" are just a few examples. All told, the album has 22 different live tracks that provide an experience of the energy and the connection between BTS and ARMY across the world. This is very impressive considering the album does not have a single new song in it, which reflects their continued ability to excite and engage audiences based only on the energy from the performance.

The announcement comes after time served on mandatory military service and individual activities by all seven members. In early July 2025, BTS confirmed a full comeback planned for spring 2026. In a live event streamed on Weverse, the band revealed they will be coming back and reconvening in the United States starting in July to begin the intense process of creating new music and getting ready to perform. This album will be their first-long form product since 2020 and they will simultaneously be starting on a new major world tour as they connect back with BTS fans around the world, marking their return to large-scale group activity after a long break.

‍BTS's "PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LIVE" shows their place in music - it also illustrates K-pop's reach around the world; they regularly get high spots on the Billboard chart. This breaks cultural and language limits and affects music markets everywhere. People expect the next album plus tour. BTS's path displays how their art changes. It also shows the deep connection they keep with people who watch them from different countries. The live album sold many copies - this confirms BTS's role as pioneers in pop music today.
