K-Pop Group IVE to Stream Lollapalooza Paris Performance Following Technical Difficulties

A South Korean girl group IVE will stream their recent performance of Lollapalooza Paris via their official YouTube channel today at noon, after headlining the French music festival. The six-member girl group under Starship Entertainment performed on the festival's main stage for one hour, on July 20th, at the Hippodrome ParisLongchamp venue. The streaming service announcement comes in a wave of positivity as the group received much praise for coping impressively through technical issues during their live performance.

The performance highlighted IVE's versatility, as they showcased a medley of some of their popular hits, including "REBEL HEART," "I AM," "LOVE DIVE," and "ATTITUDE," to a worldwide audience. Yet, midway through the performers' set, the concert was interrupted by issues with sound transmission. IVE used their experience to recover maintain their composure and ultimately restart their performance from the the first song -- while ensuring that the fans had what many described as a complete show. The issue exhibited the complications artists face at large outdoor festivals, but it also showed IVE's professional maturation in a global concert setting.

Visual aspects were a big component of the performance, as the group balanced punk aesthetic styling that was dominated by burgundy and black, colors that enhanced the festival environment. The members Ahn Yu-jin, Ga-eul, Lay, Jang Won-young, Liz, and Lee Seo, were unbelievably engaged with the large, diverse audience, often feeding off the audience interaction. The members initiated audience participation, including singing, which clearly was effective even if the audience spoke another language. The performance reinforced IVE's emerging identity as a notable festival performers, often referred to in the entertainment industry shorthand as "K-Pepper.'

The YouTube telecast allows fans around the world to see IVE perform in better quality than usually is seen from festival footage. IVE has continued their busy schedule with the 2025 Coupang Play Series match between Team K League and Newcastle United at Suwon World Cup Stadium when they will perform at the kickoff and halftime on July 30th, to again follow up the Lollapalooza Paris appearance on July 21 and 22. The group's performance further highlights their expanding fan base on the international stage, having already established themselves domestically in Korean markets and having gained a larger recognition in Asia, and eventually internationally.
