Chuu Returns to Acting After 6 Years in New KBS Romance Drama My Girlfriend is a Real Man

K-pop musician and actress Chuu has gone into details about her feelings when she decided to go back to filming a series after six years, as she is getting ready to show up in KBS 2TV's preeminent Wednesday–Thursday drama "My Girlfriend Is the Man!." At the time of the online production conference on July 23rd, the creative artist who has many talents shared her mixed feelings of joy and anxiety regarding the job that will be her character, Kang Min-joo, a person who secretly falls in love with the male lead and, at the same time, is very popular among her peers.

The brand-new romantic portrayal, a creation of the popular Naver webtoon author Masta, goes through the life of Kim Ji-eun (portrayed by Arin of Oh My Girl), who changes into a good-looking guy in a miraculous way, and Park Yoon-jae (Yoon San-ha), her very loyal lover who does not want to accept the end of their relationship. Chuu's role in this rare love triangle is that she gives the impression of the confident "queen bee" type, and she is also the one who has a crush on Park Yoon-jae. "I'm really scared and hyped at the same time about taking on the new acting challenge after 6 years," Chuu disclosed at the occasion. "This is my first time doing a serious drama, so I'm very nervous, but the co-stars I'm working with are similar in age, and the character is a style I really like."

The primary reason Chuu was attracted to the project was the new storytelling method chosen and the chance to emulate a character that she had previously respected so much. After making sure the story she was going to act in was both new and funny, and that the character to be played was still a great lady but not the same as me, she continued, "The story was so fresh and fun to approach, and the character itself was attractive because it was the kind of popular girl and queen bee that I wanted to be when I was in school." One of the things that the former LOONA member was really thrilled about was telling the story of Min-joo's one-sided romance, previously underlining how much she would like to portray a character's internal fight — someone who, despite having it all, cannot win the affection of the person she is in love with.
"My Girlfriend Is the Man!" is of utmost importance for both Chuu's performing path and KBS's dedication to internet cartoon spinoffs being aired on TV. The project, which is from the hand of Lee Hae-na and the eye of Yoo Kwan-mo, was first aired at 9:50 PM on July 23rd, marking the time Chuu had been eagerly waiting for as she returned to the screen with the drama. The series, featuring the new and interesting situation of transgender identity and given excellent actors such as the new stars Yoon San-ha and Arin, is forecasted to be talked about by the audience and to go far as Chuu extends her career as a famous singer to that of a serious dramatic actress.
